With this post I want to talk about the results that I have in the aladdin´s project and how I feel while I was making it.

First of all I have to say that my classmates and I made a very good project, because we though that we will do worst than I realize at the end of the activity.

The activity which we did with the first group was a little bit confused because we prepared the activity sorther than we did at the end. To expand the time of the activities we did a little change in the procedure of them. First thwe students had to make the pyramid activity and then they had to make the menu for the sultan. In the activity of the menu I explained to the students that firstly they had to make a menu in two group with the food that they want, and them all the studetns had to be in one group to make a healthy menu using the things they have learned in the pyramid activity.

One thing that we forgot tomake with this group was play some arabic music to contextualize the market.

With the other groups the activities were so well done because we improve the thing that we did with the firt group like temporize the activities in a better way, using the pyramid activity better than before and explained the students that if they want they can change the form of the menu as the  font size and colour.

One funny thing that happened in our project was that all the people that pass through the market want to do the activities because they liked it a lot.

To end with this post I don´t know if your wortkshop was as wonderful as our workshop but I hope you did well, and I hope you had a good workshops.

Aladdin´s market http://blogs.cardenalcisneros.es/childrenslit/2014/11/22/aladdins-market/ http://blogs.cardenalcisneros.es/childrenslit/2014/11/22/aladdins-market/#comments Sat, 22 Nov 2014 19:08:41 +0000 http://blogs.cardenalcisneros.es/childrenslit/?p=740 Hello everyone!!!

I hope you liked my last post.

In this post I want to talk about the workshop that we have to do this tuesday about the Alladin´s world.

My groupmates and I will create a market shop to make the students think about all the food that we can get in a market and also think about what is a good feed.

Some objectives that we think that students can achieve when they finis this workshop are: know how to do a cooperative work, learn some English words that they don´t know before this workshop and also know how to have a good feed.

My groupmates will dress up like common arabic people and I will dress up as the Agrabah´s Sultan sultan  to make a relation with

Aladdin´s film.

We will be located in the outside of the university that is in front of the library (if you want to see us) :)

In our market shop the students have to buy some food (with coins we gave them before) and try to make a food pyramid. Firstly we ask the students if they know what is a food pyramid and if they do not know we explain it to them. Then they have to create their own pyramid with the food that we have in the market shop. They will create it with some food images and a pyramid made of continuous paper.
The next step is when they finish the creation of the pfood pyramid. We are going to show them the best nutritional pyramid and compare it with the pyramid they made. This activity will be made for all the students in only one group.

The second part of our workshop, in which I will be sitting on a sofa like a real Sultan, consists in make a menu for the Agrabah´s Sultan. They will be divided in two groups, each group will have a tablet to make their own menu. The next part of the activity is that they have to present to me (the Agrabah´s Sultan) their menus and I will select the one which I prefer.

I give you this image that is the template that theyhave to follw to create a menu:

abrabha´s restaurant

With an app of the tablets they have to write in this image what they want to present to the Agrabah´s Sultan. The menu have to have some starters, main meals and some desserts to be acomplete menu.

The Fairytale Characters Creation Activity: http://blogs.cardenalcisneros.es/childrenslit/2014/11/10/the-fairytale-characters-creation-activity/ http://blogs.cardenalcisneros.es/childrenslit/2014/11/10/the-fairytale-characters-creation-activity/#comments Mon, 10 Nov 2014 18:45:59 +0000 http://blogs.cardenalcisneros.es/childrenslit/?p=698 With this post I want to share with you my opinion about the activity that we have done in the last seminars about the creation of a fairytale character.

This seminar made me think about how we can apply this activity in our future classes. In my opinion this is a potential activity to know better our students and how do they think.

The creation of a fairytale character could be a beneficial activity to improve the communication between teachers and students, considering that the teacher will be able to see how are the self-esteem of each child and they may use this activity to take full of the possible potential of each student.

This activity could be done at the first days of the course, when the teachers do not have so much information to know the type of students they will teach. It takes all the week.

-To begin with the activity the teacher will have to explain the different roles that have each character in the story, because it does not symbolize the same things a character who plays as a hero than another who plays as a wizard, or a villain.

-To continue with the activity we could make a kind of test, but with some familiar characters of the popular children stories and try to identify the meaning of each one. With this first part of the activity the teacher catch the attention of the students and can carry out the second part of the activity.

-On the second part of the activity children will have to create a character that they deem appropriate to make a reflection of themselves, either a prince, a wizard, or a princess in distress.

-The final part of the activity will be as a meeting where all the students present their own fairytale characters explaining why they chose that kind of character and some things about the story of it, for example when and where does he or she lives, in conclusion what does the story of this character is about.

-After know all the characters, the children will vote the five they like the most and the winners will have to make a little group representation about the story of these characters.

I hope you enjoy the activity and want to perform it in your practical period.

Thanks!!
