It makes me so happy you liked the post. It is true that mornings are really special moments. These kind of situations are perfect if you imagine them like a film with its own OST. Because of this reason I thought that it was a good idea to start a post about music in that way.
I completely agree with you about surely, Raquel used the song like a kind of message to motivate us.
I forgot that also Alfonso used lot of wonderful songs with us. When I listened the song “It was a good time”, everything came up into my mind!
Thank you for sharing your ideas and the “Arabian Nights” song with us. ;)

Your post took my attention with just reading the first line. I feel that the way you introduce the topic you are dealing with is quite catchy; and even more for me, as I feel identified with your characteristic of being observant and thoughtful in the mornings (if sleep allows me to think.. :P)

About the use of a song as the way Raquel started the subject, I am sure that all of us found it really motivating. I liked that it was not just listening to a song to enjoy; instead, we had to think, reflect and try to guess the reasons why she had chosen that activity and especially that song with those lyrics.
For that reason, I agree with you in the idea that messages in songs can be understood as a philosophy of education, and, as future teachers, we can take this idea and apply it with our future students; so that we can use songs as a previous knowledge activity to activate schemata, to check what they know about the topic and how they reflect about its contents, to foster critical thinking, etc; and not just for teaching contents, but also values and ways of behaving.

I remember that also Alfonso, one of our teachers during 2nd year, started his subject with a song which transmitted us an encouraging message to feel motivated and comfortable with the beginning of the year and particularly with the contents we were going to learn with him. It was Good time by Carly Rae Jepsen and Owl City. Here you have the video, I am sure you remember it too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7HmzwI67ec

“Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
It’s always a good time
Woah-oh-oh-oh Woah-oh-oh-oh
We don’t even have to try, it’s always a good time”

Regarding your final question, if I had to choose an OST for the whole degree, I do not know which it would be; but in case of this subject, I am sure it would be “Arabian Nights” from Aladdin.

And, last but not least, I would like to tell you that I love your post and I find it really interesting!! Thank you for sharing it with us! :)

Rocío.
