It happened the same to me. When all of you were giving us such relevant information about this group of authors I was really amazed because I felt that some of them had been part of my childhood. For example, I loved Arthur when I was a child but I never stopped to think about the great effort and the huge talent of Marc Brown to write this children’s story.
I also like your idea of creating books. However I can find more advantages if we ask our students to create their own books. While creating our classroom library there were some of us who remembered creating our books when we were in the school. I really think it is a very good activity in order to encourage our student to read. They will write interesting stories thinking as a child, they will feel as great authors and they will want to read their classmates’ books.
And finally, I have to say that those resources that you provide in your post sound really good. Nowadays it is very important to introduce children in the world of the new technologies. So why do not we ask them to create a book online?
